Les points forts

It goes under the seat without argument — 40 x 20 x 25 cm, the strictest size.

It sits on your suitcase instead of weighing on your arm — sleeve for the telescopic handle.

The laptop has its own place, not a corner — padded sleeve up to 13 inches.

It stands on the floor without leaning on the fabric — flat base with feet.

Questions we’re often asked

Will it fit in the cabin?
With these dimensions, it fits the free hand luggage allowance (40 × 30 × 20 cm): it slides under the seat in front. Rules vary from one airline to another: always check the ones on your ticket.
What capacity do I need for my trip?
Allow 20 to 30 litres for two nights, 40 to 55 litres for a week, and over 60 litres for a long trip or for two.
Is it rainproof?
Nylon and Oxford fabric are light and dry quickly; they handle rain better than canvas. A wipe with a sponge is all it takes to clean them.
How should I store it between trips?
Empty it, let it dry open, then store it away from light. A soft bag folds; stuff a leather bag so it keeps its shape.
Cabin bag: the buying guide

Cabin bag: the buying guide

You don't choose a cabin bag by its stated volume but by its three dimensions, because that's what the sizer measures at boarding. This one is 40 x 20 x 25 cm, the tightest size used by low-cost airlines — the one that goes under the seat and isn't charged at the desk. Other sizes are in our cabin bag, and larger models in our travel bag.

What sets two models apart

What sets two models apart

At equal size, what sets two cabin bags apart comes down to details you only notice in use:

  • a suitcase sleeve on the back, so the bag rides on the handle instead of on you
  • a separate laptop sleeve, not just a flat pocket
  • a removable shoulder strap: take it off when the bag rides on the suitcase
  • a flat base with feet that stands up on the floor
  • a wide opening rather than a top zip, so you can reach the contents without taking everything out

Oxford fabric differs from ordinary polyester in its tight weave: it marks less and loses less shape when the bag is full. Compare it with the other models in our cabin bag.

Cabin bag: packing it without losing its shape

Cabin bag: packing it without losing its shape

A cabin bag is measured empty and refused full: it all comes down to the 20 cm depth, the dimension the sizer checks and the only one that bulges when you pack badly. The packing order alone solves the problem.

  • Weight at the bottom, against the reinforced seam: shoes, wash bag, chargers.
  • Clothes rolled on top rather than folded — they fill the gaps instead of creating bulges.
  • The laptop last, in its sleeve, on the back side: it stays flat and doesn't push out the depth.
  • The front pocket for what you take out on the move: passport, phone, earphones.

Packed in this order, the bag keeps its three dimensions and slides in without forcing. Packed the other way round, it gains two centimetres in the middle, exactly where the sizer shows no mercy. And leave room for the trip home: a bag packed to the brim on the way out won't close on the way back. The whole range is in our cabin bag, and larger sizes in travel bag.

FAQs

Does it really fit under the seat?

Yes: 40 x 20 x 25 cm matches the strictest size used by low-cost airlines. Still, check your airline's rules when you book, as each sets its own and they change. Because the bag is soft, it can be squeezed slightly as you slide it in, which a hard case can't.

What size laptop does it take?

Up to 13 inches in its padded sleeve. A slim 14-inch often fits, but without the margin that protects the corners: above 13 inches, a dedicated sleeve is a better bet.

Can it be attached to a suitcase?

Yes, a sleeve sewn into the back slides over the telescopic handle. The bag then sits flat on the suitcase, handle up, and doesn't tip over as you pull it.

How long does delivery take?

Allow 7 to 9 working days for France, Belgium and Luxembourg. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as it's dispatched.
