The cabin travel bag, from £21.90 to £191.90

A cabin travel bag stays with you during the flight: a soft bag with handles, a travel backpack with stated dimensions, or a business bag with a laptop pocket. This Bagiora selection brings together all three, in nylon, Oxford, polyester, canvas, PU leather and genuine leather depending on the product page.

Soft bags with handles

The cheapest is the foldable 22 L travel bag, in waterproof nylon, which its product page states is cabin-approved for flights, at £21.90. The ultra-light foldable in nylon (£46.90) comes in nine colours for hiking and leisure.

In waterproof Oxford, the large-capacity bag with shoe compartment is £34.90 (with wet and dry laundry separation) and £39.90. The colourful Oxford bag (£47.90) and the Sport Essential (£49.90) are aimed at sport and the weekend. In nylon, the weekender (£39.90) and the large-capacity crossbody bag (£39.90) remain the simplest. For more style, the retro crocodile-effect bag in waterproof PU (£54.90) and the canvas Explorer (£79.90, six colours).

Cabin travel bags with dimensions

For a bag whose measurements are written on the product page:

  • Travel bag 40 × 30 × 20 cm (£49.90): laptop compartment and shoe pocket.
  • Bag 40 × 20 × 25 cm (£59.90): lightweight nylon, shoe compartment, laptop storage, 180° opening.
  • Vacuum bag 40 × 25 × 20 cm (£79.90, same measurements in a different order): it compresses clothes to save space.
  • 20 to 35 L bag (£74.90), in nylon, which can also be worn as a laptop backpack.

The travel backpacks on the page repeat these measurements: 40 × 25 × 20 cm with 14-inch laptop (£59.90), 40 × 20 × 25 cm with shoe compartment (£64.90), 40 × 30 × 20 cm with shoe compartment (£67.90, with 14-inch laptop, and £69.90), all in waterproof nylon. The 3-in-1 (£89.90) is worn as a backpack, by hand or crossbody. The complete selection of strap bags is on our page Cabin travel backpack.

For work

The convertible foldable suit travel bag 53 L, in waterproof Oxford (£79.90), keeps shirt and jacket crease-free. The Expandable Business travel bag (£124.90 to £134.90), in waterproof Oxford, comes in 47 × 31 × 25 or 52 × 34 × 27 cm, expands to 45 L and takes a 17.3-inch laptop. Also available are the Multifunction in Oxford (£89.90), the 35 L business convertible in polyester (£144.90) and the 17-inch XXL compression backpack (£191.90), in waterproof Oxford. Two business backpacks at £69.90 complete the range: one in waterproof nylon with USB port, the other anti-theft in water-repellent nylon.

In genuine leather

The Prestige (£109.90 to £139.90) comes in 45 or 55 cm, and the black cowhide bag goes up to £189.90. For other pieces, see our page men's travel bag, some models of which are in genuine leather: the composition is given on each product page.

To compare with larger formats, our leather travel luggage bring together the Prestige, vintage waxed canvas models and a small genuine leather bag.

What is the size for cabin baggage?

There is no single size: each airline sets its own dimensions and weight, and often distinguishes the bag that slides under the seat from the cabin bag stored overhead. The bags on this page that give their measurements range from 40 × 20 × 25 to 40 × 30 × 20 cm, and the Expandable Business up to 52 × 34 × 27 cm. Always check the rules on your ticket: our dimensions are for comparison, not to presume the carrier's agreement.

Cabin travel bag or cabin suitcase?

The rigid cabin suitcase protects a fragile item better and rolls on smooth ground. The soft travel bag weighs less, squashes into a boot that is already full and fits better on stairs or a train. The cabin backpack frees both hands during connections. You can also combine a cabin suitcase with a small backpack slipped under the seat, when the ticket allows.

What type of bag for cabin travel by plane?

A soft bag with handles for a weekend, a backpack with the measurements stated on the product page for a single-bag flight, a business bag with a laptop pocket for work.

Frequently asked questions about the cabin travel bag

What is the best cabin bag for travelling?

The one that suits your journey: a bag with a shoe compartment for sport, a bag with a laptop pocket for work, a vacuum bag to carry more in the same volume, a foldable bag for a small budget.

Can I have cabin baggage and a backpack?

It depends on your ticket. When it allows a bag under the seat in addition to the suitcase or cabin bag, a backpack with the dimensions stated on the product page or a lightweight foldable bag will do.
