    Allow 20 to 30 litres for two nights, 40 to 55 litres for a week, and over 60 litres for a long trip or for two.
    Is it rainproof?
    Care depends on the material, shown in the specifications: if in doubt, use a damp cloth and let it air-dry.
    How should I store it between trips?
    Empty it, let it dry open, then store it away from light. A soft bag folds; stuff a leather bag so it keeps its shape.

    Luggage is refused when full, never when empty: it all comes down to packing order and depth, the dimension that bulges when you pack badly.

    Load the bottom first with the heavy things: shoes, wash bag, chargers. The bag keeps its shape and the bottom seam takes the strain evenly.

    Roll your clothes rather than folding them: they fill the gaps instead of creating bulges, and it's the depth that makes luggage oversized.

    Keep the outer pocket for what you take out on the move — ticket, phone, charger — so you never have to open the main compartment standing in a queue.
