Laundry bag: bags, foldable baskets and wash nets, from £9.90 to £47.90

A laundry bag separates worn clothes from clean things, at home as well as when travelling. This Bagiora selection brings together three families: laundry bags that close or can be carried, foldable laundry baskets with handles, and wash nets that protect delicate items in the machine. Materials, capacities and dimensions are those on the product pages.

Laundry bags, for home and travel

The 71L waterproof Oxford laundry bag has adjustable straps and a pocket: it can be carried on your back to the launderette. The Foldable Oxford Laundry Bag (£21.90), XL format in waterproof fabric, stores flat between two washes. For a more decorative fabric bag, the cotton and linen drawstring laundry bag (£22.90) closes with a drawstring and comes in nine prints (dog, panda, cloud, alphabet); it is also used for storing toys. The Smile nylon wash bag (£12.90), 61 × 91 cm, is light and machine washable according to its product page.

Foldable laundry baskets

A laundry basket stays open in the bedroom or bathroom and folds away when not in use. The foldable breathable mesh laundry basket (£9.90) comes in mesh or half-opaque versions. The 76L mesh basket with handles (£23.90) offers a large capacity, and the 90L foldable Oxford fabric basket (£30.90), waterproof, has aluminium handles. The light, airy mesh basket lets air circulate to limit odours.

Wash nets

A net protects delicate laundry in the machine: it prevents snags, deformation and clothes tangling. The polyester mesh wash bag (£9.90) comes in seven sizes, from bra (18 × 16 cm) to jacket (40 × 50 cm). The wash bag with drawstring (£20.90) comes in fine or open mesh and in four sizes, from 30 × 40 to 60 × 80 cm.

Which laundry bag should you choose?

  • For the bedroom or bathroom: a foldable laundry basket, in mesh or Oxford, depending on the size of your household.
  • For a travel laundry bag: a model that folds flat, slipped into the suitcase, or the bag with straps for going to the launderette.
  • For a child's bedroom: the printed cotton and linen bag, which also stores toys.
  • For the washing machine: one wash net per type of garment.

Frequently asked questions about the laundry bag

Where should I put dirty laundry?

In a basket or an airy laundry bag, away from damp. Wet laundry should be dried before it goes in, otherwise it keeps a smell. Breathable mesh or a fabric bag lets air circulate better than a closed bin.

Why put laundry in a net?

To protect what gets damaged in the wash: bras, tights, socks, items with hooks or lace. The net prevents snags and keeps small items together.

What can replace a wash net?

A closed pillowcase does the job for an occasional wash. For regular use, a proper net whose size matches the item is more practical.

To complete your trip

In the suitcase, the laundry bag sits alongside the wash bag, travel vanity cases and travel make-up bag. To save space, see the Travel compression bags and Shoe Bag; and for health while travelling, the medicine bags.
