Can I take it as hand luggage?
It’s bigger than the usual cabin size (55 × 40 × 20 cm): when flying, it goes in the hold. By car or train, nothing limits it.
Will a laptop fit?
The product page doesn’t mention a dedicated compartment: compare the bag’s dimensions with your laptop’s, or have a look at our laptop backpacks.
Is it comfortable for a whole day?
Adjust the straps so the bag sits close to your back, with the bottom at the small of your back: that stops it pulling on your shoulders. With a heavy load, pack the heaviest items against your back.
How do I look after it?
Nylon and Oxford fabric are light and dry quickly; they handle rain better than canvas. A wipe with a sponge is all it takes to clean them.

For a day hike, twenty to thirty litres is enough; any more and you end up carrying what you don't need.

It's the back panel and straps that make the difference, not the capacity. Wear it high, with the straps adjusted so the weight sits on your shoulders rather than your lower back, and pack the heaviest items against your back rather than at the bottom.
