Travel backpack

Travel backpack: from the foldable spare bag to the large compression bag, from £9.90 to £191.90

This Bagiora page brings together backpacks for getting away: small foldable bags to slip into the suitcase, cabin backpacks with shoe compartment, business bags with USB port, hiking bags and tactical bags for outdoor travel. The capacities, materials and dimensions mentioned are those on the product pages.

For flying: travelling with a single bag

Hand luggage is chosen according to its dimensions, to compare with those your ticket requires. Two product pages give them: the 40x20x25 cabin backpack with shoe compartment (£64.90) and the 40x30x20 model, both in waterproof nylon according to their product pages, with a separate compartment for shoes. The compact 20 to 35 L nylon cabin bag completes this choice. For a longer cabin trip, the 3-in-1 travel backpack (£89.90) can also be carried as a handbag or crossbody. Other formats await on the page backpack for the plane cabin.

Business travel and laptop

To work on the move, look at the laptop compartment and the opening.

• The lightweight 25L bag in tough nylon opens 180° and holds a 14-inch laptop.
• The waterproof PU business bag (15-inch) and the 17.3-inch model in waterproof Oxford have a built-in USB port.
• The 17-inch XXL compression travel backpack (£191.90), in waterproof Oxford, vacuum-compresses your clothes for a long trip; the 17-inch compression business bag adds a TSA lock, according to its product page.
• The trolley backpack in high-density polyester rolls like a suitcase and is worn on the back.

Foldable bags, spare bags

A foldable bag stores folded in the suitcase and is used on site, for an excursion or the shopping on the way home. The Vanaheimr 20L weighs 85 g according to its product page and folds into its own pocket; the 31L waterproof nylon foldable bag and the 30L Oxford foldable travel bag offer more room.

Outdoor travel, trek and tactical bags

For a nature trip, a hiking bag carries a heavy load better: the 50L multifunction hiking bag, the 75L with built-in rain cover or the 90L in waterproof nylon for camping and long journeys. The Molle military tactical bags in polyester, in 25L or 45L, and the 55L duffel, which can be worn as a backpack or a sports bag, are aimed at active outings. The waterproof backpack cover (£9.90) protects a 30 to 70 L bag in the rain.

Frequently asked questions about the travel backpack

What is the best backpack for travelling?

The one that matches the way you travel: a cabin bag if you go without a hold suitcase, a compression bag for a long stay, a hiking bag for a touring trip. Check the capacity, the opening and the comfort of the straps.

What size backpack for travelling by plane?

The one your ticket allows: each airline sets its own hand luggage dimensions. Compare them with the dimensions on the product page before you leave, with the bag packed.

What is the most practical travel bag?

A bag that opens wide, keeps shoes separate from the rest and can be carried for a long time without discomfort. Models with a shoe compartment and 180° opening meet this expectation.
