Cat carrier backpack

Cat carrier backpack: carriers from £34.90 to £86.90

This page brings together our cat carriers to wear on your back: soft, foldable models, bubble-window or transparent capsule bags, and larger formats that also take a small dog. The other models are on our page backpacks in every size, and for your everyday belongings on Women's Backpacks. Each product page gives its materials and strong points: breathable fabric, PU, waterproof fabric or waterproof Oxford depending on the model.

The families of cat carriers

• Foldable and breathable: the breathable foldable cat carrier comes in size S or L, from £34.90. The foldable model with soft cushion (£59.90) folds down when the cat is not inside.
• Transparent and capsules: the cat can see out through the wall. The breathable PU transparent bag (£39.90) is the cheapest of this family, the comfortable, breathable transparent capsule (£55.90) has a bubble shape, and the waterproof fabric transparent bag (£71.90) advertises a large capacity for small animals.
• Large formats: the waterproof Oxford cat carrier (£51.90) bets on capacity. The Dogat XL carrier (£79.90) is stated on its product page for a cat or dog up to 10 kg.

Which carrier should you choose for your cat?

• Curious or anxious cat that likes to see outside: a capsule or a transparent bag.
• Small home, easy storage: a foldable model.
• Walk with a baby: keep the cat in its bag and the child's things in a baby changing backpack.
• Big cat, or a cat and a small dog: a large format, checking the weight stated on the product page.
• Vet visits, car or public transport journeys: a bag worn on the back leaves your hands free, with no rigid crate to carry at arm's length.
• Outings in the rain: a waterproof material stated on the product page; for your own belongings, see also the waterproof backpack.

Measure your cat from neck to the base of the tail and weigh it to choose: a bag that is too small cramps it, one that is too big lets it slide around while you walk.

Getting your cat used to the carrier

Leave the bag open at home for a few days, with a blanket that carries its smell. Then make short journeys, then longer outings. For your own belongings on a walk, the women's chic sports backpack or women's stylish backpack can be worn alongside. Keep the zip firmly closed during transport and never leave the bag in the sun, in the car or outside.

Frequently asked questions about the cat carrier backpack

What is the price of a cat carrier bag or crate?

On this page, our cat carriers range from £34.90 to £86.90. The differences come mainly from size, the transparent wall and the material. For a stay away, our women's holiday travel backpack completes the cat's bag.

Which backpack for a 10 kg dog?

The XL large format on this page is stated for a cat or dog up to 10 kg. Other product pages mention cats and small dogs without giving a weight: in that case, compare the dimensions with your pet.

How does a cat go to the toilet on a plane?

It mostly holds on during the journey. Place an absorbent pad at the bottom of the bag, don't feed it just before departure and ask your vet for advice for a long journey. The rules for travelling with a pet in the cabin depend on the airline: check them when you book. For your own luggage, our page cabin travel backpack gathers the formats with flight dimensions, and the Backpack suitcase is for longer departures.
